Making Money with Articles: Where to Find Affiliates For Your Niche Website

To make money with articles that you place on websites, you will also need a variety of good affiliate links that will help to generate revenue. It is important that you know where to find affiliates and that you choose the best affiliates for you and your niche site.

When you pick an affiliate, it is important that you determine which companies you will profit best from based on the frequency that the product is likely to sell. There are several types of affiliates and some will offer you more money from a sale than others will. Before you get hazy-eyed by dollar signs, however, remember some products are bound to sell more than others. If you sell on product four times a year from a little known company that gives you $100 per sale or sell a well known product 3 times a week at the rate of $10 per sale, then you will make much more money with the $10 per sale product. Often times large well known companies will offer a very small profit per sale because they are established and know that their product is likely to sell well. Small, unknown companies, on the other hand, need all of the promotion they can get. Also, because they are unknown, their products are likely to sell less frequently.

The most important rule when picking affiliates to promote on your site is to pick products that would be of interest to those who would likely visit your niche site. Otherwise you will be promoting a product to a group of people who do not even want nor need it. If your niche site targets parents of young children, then promote baby products. If you niche site targets gardeners, then promote gardening products. If you promote baby products to gardeners, you are almost guaranteed to not make a profit no matter how much money the affiliate company offers for a sale.

Lastly, there are two main ways to find an affiliate company for your niche website. You can sign up with a company that manages the accounts of hundreds of companies, big and small, and apply for the products within these accounts or you can do a web search for companies that would match well with your niche, visit their websites, and see if they advertise an affiliate program.

Learning How to Make Money Blogging

Learning How to Make Money Blogging

There are two major types of business models that
entrepreneurs use to make money blogging. The first
and most common way to turn a blog into a profit
making machine is to sell advertising to different
companies and brands who want to reach that blog’s
readers. The second kind of money making blog is one
that helps a single brand improve its image by creating
positive associations between the blog and the product
in the mind of consumers. Both kinds of blogs can
make a lot of money, especially if the creator has a keen
mind for marketing.

If you are blogging with the goal of selling advertising,
there are two basic ways that you can go about
recruiting sponsors who want to put ads on your site;
you can let someone else do all of the legwork, or you
can do the work yourself and keep all of the revenue.
Within the first group, many people make money
blogging by selling space through Google’s AdSense
program. The advantages of this program are numerous,
as it requires very little effort on the part of the blogger
or webmaster to begin raking in profits. However, most
people discover that they make less money through this
method than they had hoped that their blog would earn.

Selling advertising directly to companies who want to
put banner ads or sponsored links on your blog can take
quite a bit of time, but it is often fairly lucrative. If you
have a lot of contacts in industries that are related to the
topic of your blog, you may want to try to go this route.
People who have a strong background in sales and are
experienced at pitching proposals can make quite a bit
of money by renting blog space to interested companies.
The most serious problem with this model is that you
often have to build quite a sizable readership before you
can attract advertisers, which can mean that you have to
do several months of work before you start to make
money blogging.

As blogging becomes a more and more lucrative
business, a lot of established companies are considering
how they can get into the action. One way that
companies are capitalizing on the blog movement is by
having blogs that provide a kind of friendly face for
their corporation. Often, a company will employ an
established blogger to create a weblog designed
specifically to appeal to that company’s customers and
to create positive associations with the brand in
consumers’ minds. More than one writer who never
even dreamed that he or she could make money
blogging has been approached by a company and
offered quite a pretty penny for this kind of gig.

The Definition of Blogging

The definition of blogging is something that is very
much in flux, as the new technologies that appear every
day redefine what a blog is, what a blog can be, and
what a blog should do. For many years, blogs were
defined as text-based websites that kept records of days,
similar to a captain’s log on a sailing ship. However,
this started to change as the group of people who kept
blogs became more diverse. The more bloggers began
to explore the limits of the medium and of the
technology that made it possible, the more the
boundaries of what could be called a “blog” expanded.

Today, there are an abundance of photo blogs, and there
are even video blogs as well. Mobile blogging devices
may well change the definition of blogging entirely by
making it possible for bloggers to create new kinds of
posts. Another element of the blogosphere that is
starting to redefine blogging is the corporate blog. As
more companies hire writers to keep blogs with the sole
purpose of creating positive buzz about their brand,
bloggers across the globe are arguing about whether
these manufactured blogs are really worthy of the name.
Between all of these different forces that are constantly
expanding and reshaping the blogosphere, it is difficult
to imagine that the definition of what is and is not a
blog will ever remain fixed for very long.

How Article Marketing Can Catapult Your Traffic Overnight

How Article Marketing Can Catapult Your Traffic Overnight

When you are thinking about traffic generation strategies, one idea at the front of your mind should always be article marketing. This free traffic generating method should truly be a part of any good internet marketer’s arsenal of marketing tools.

Traffic generation is a topic that many internet marketers discuss, but few get right. The main problem seems to be that they throw so much stuff in so many different directions and nothing sticks long enough to work.

Imagine this: You are having a party and you want to invite 35 people to your party. You go out and invest in all kinds of decorations because you want your house to look top notch (think domain names, headers, fancy site templates).

One week before your big bash, you see Susie Smith at the grocery store and you say “I am thinking about having a party next week. Hope you can come” and you walk away to get your milk and eggs. Meanwhile, Susie is left standing in the cereal aisle wondering where the party is, when it will be and what the party is for.

On the big night of your party, you are sitting at your dining room table wondering where those 35 people are.

Your decorations are up, your appetizers are getting cold and you cannot believe how much money you spent on everything. You think to yourself “What a lousy investment THIS was!”

How does all of this relate to traffic generation and article marketing? Well, so many marketers create these really fancy websites with great headers and nifty domain names. Then, they write one short rehashed PLR article and wait for the millions to come rolling in.

If they are really go getters, they might write 5 or even 10 articles before calling it a failure. The truth is, you cannot just invite one or two people to your internet “party” and decide it is a failure when no one shows up!

In article marketing, you need to be aggressive and consistent. You need to be specific and lead your prospects where you want them to go. You cannot beat around the bush.

You need to give good solid information with a direct call to action to get them to click on your links.

Instead of telling Susie there MIGHT be a party, why not send out 50 invitations so you can make sure your 35 guests show up?

Squidoo to Generate Traffic

Squidoo to Generate Traffic

When most people first hear the word “Squidoo”, they have no idea what in the world that means! It is a funny name for a site, however this particular website certainly packs a powerful punch when it comes to driving traffic to your own websites. Because Squidoo has garnered such a great page rank and important with Google, you can use it to give “juice” to your own site.

Let’s say for example that you want to target a keyword phrase such as “lose weight for your wedding”.

Right now, that phrase may have stiff competition. If you created a website of your own, it may take years to even begin to crack the top 10 on Google. There are likely many sites on page 1 that have been around a long time or have a lot of back links.

To overcome them, you would have to do a lot of work on search engine optimization, back linking, article writing and more tasks just to attempt to over take them. However, you want to start making money now, right?

A better idea is to create your website, but then also create an adjoining Squidoo lens (these little mini sites are called lenses). Because Google tends to like Squidoo, you could rise to the top much easier using a Squidoo site.

However, you DO still want to have your own website because it will be something you own that you can control.

You just use Squidoo to point traffic to your own website. So, you will create a Squidoo lens which uses the keyword phrase that you are targeting. Google will pick that up and start sending people to your lens.

On your Squidoo, you will use anchor text to point people to your website. However, you must be careful that you do not violate any of the terms of service at Squidoo as there are certain topics that they no longer allow because they were too spammy.

Also, make sure that you do provide valuable content as well as a lot of interaction for your visitors so that they will want to click through to your website.

The more content you have, including polls, comments and video, the better chance you will have of getting a higher ranking and thus more traffic from Google. Using Squidoo is one great way to generate more traffic to your website very quickly.
